A M E R I C A N G I R L.

I don't know about you but i always thought of American Eagle as a 'teenage' store. Seeing as i'm a twenty something, it wasn't really on my radar. Then i came across these pants in Seventeen mag, (it's my sisters i swear!) and thought 'hmm seems just like what i'm looking for'. They are semi loose, casual, and the perfect green color, all for about forty smackers. I also stumbled upon these pom pom flats while surfing the site. (I'm not a flats girl but you gotta get one pair every year, so here they are, for about $30). American Eagle you've reeled me back in!

Say hello to my new Franco Sarto's, just about as perfect a summer 'everything' shoe as you can find. Usually i go for a nude summer sandal, but since my closet is chalk full of those i decided to get for black. They look even better in person, i'll show you soon!

Unknown.
Wanting to dress like this all the time lately. Simple, chic, great fitting clothing. Although i'll never give up a great statement dress, or a loud print, i think i'm really coming into my own with this 'simpler' dressing. Gap 'real straight' jeans in a dark wash, a striped tee or sweater, and a pair of wedges has become my uniform. I always like to mix it up with a bright pink or red lip and a bit of statement jewelry. Wait till summer and i'm going to be praising the giant floral prints and Mexican embroidery, ah how the seasons change.

Now that i'm a career women, i've been buying more quality, classic pieces, but still sticking to my basic core of dressing. I stumbled upon Joslyn, of Simple Lovely, and just love her style. Her outfits consist of stripes, statement jewelry, and classic shapes. Although the peg leg trousers and trench are both timeless, you would never say shes boring. Quite the contrary, shes made these pieces modern!
This motto of dressing is what i'm going for lately, and as always i'm loving stripes.

I have always admired the things that Jenny, of Wikstenmade, makes. From the handmade knits (her socks are amazing), to the dresses, and artist colabrations, it is all amazing. All of her things feel fresh and crisp, yet they are timeless.
This is how i want to dress right now. Cute and laid back, stylish and simple. Perfect for weekend dressing. Welcome to the weekend!

Stripes are such a classic pattern. I am a stripes gal! Whole segments of my drawers and closet are segmented into 'stripes' sections. My mother buys anything she sees with stripes, thinking its 'me,' she's even started finding striped workout clothing, ha!
For spring im setting my sights on some new striped shift dresses. This bottom one from JCrew seems perfect, short enough, yet not to short, and the perfect fat stripes. Im vowing to buy more quality pieces so this one is going to be coming home with me! (Along with one of their skinny belts in a bright color.)

Chic Heroin, Beckerman Biteplate, FashionHippieLoves.
Seeming to have woken up out of bed with perfectly waved hair, is something all three of these girls have mastered. Something i, however, cannot get right. Having very curly hair that can hold shape, i can do a number of styles- pin straight, a bit curled, a little bit of body, etc. A controlled, beachy, wave just eludes me. Anyone have any hair tips to share with a gal in need?

This is what i want to do tonight for new years eve. Something laid back, yet still fun. Gorgeous shoes, and fur, mixed with a sweater and pants. I might add in a little more glitz with jewelry and red lips. Im thinking of grabbing a few drinks with close friends and taking it easy this year.

This is exactly how im feeling today. Wanting to wear sheer full length skirts-to feel pretty but still stay warm, luxe leather boots-great for keeping toes warm and looking fab, and hot fresh press coffee. (I could die for a coffee right now!) I don't know about you but here we have a ton of snow!

With the chilly temps in full swing, interesting coats seem to be on my radar. Who doesn't love the comfort and ease a cape brings you, and in a tribal print, im hard pressed to say no. This second coat is so amazing, seeing it on a shelf i would be a bit intimidated (which is rare), but she really wears it well. Jeans and a classic tee and the perfect backdrop to this fuzzy number.
Who am i kidding, i have a closet full of coats of all kinds, from plaid and herringbone to wool and knits and everything in between. My coat closet really isn't messing around.
Ps. Just found
this etsy shop, pretty cool stuff!

Can you believe this 3.1 Phillip Lim collection? Hes always been a favorite of mine but this is mind blowing. Soft colors, warm pastels and dark blue mixed for full on sophistication, fun prints, and unexpected zippers. The tie front top is what really put me over the edge, perfect for all summer occasions. Wish i could clothe myself in this all summer 2011 long.

Anthropologie, Yokoo, Sartorialist.
LOVING:
-Mix-matched dishes with ethnic prints, both chic and country at the same time.
-Cozy knit pillow cases made from old sweaters, mixed with a beautiful bold bedspread, for a nautical-navajo feeling that somehow works.
-Simple, simple, chic- classic colors, knits, and natural hair. Something that fits all past and present eras.

Stockholm Streetstyle.
Im totally inspired by cropped sweaters, ever since seeing this picture (bottom one), i've been searching for the perfect cable knit. Today on my lunch i hit a new thrift store, although it kinda sucked, i found my mini cable knit! I can't stop picking up sweaters, they just feel so perfect with jeans, work pants, skirts, everything!
While thrifting i also picked up a lace shirt and dress, printed pants (red ones to wear for the holidays), and a silk blouse. I also spied a beautiful Johnathan Alder-esq set of white ceramic horses, but at $6 a pop i had to let them go.
Ps. how perfect does this girl look in her fuzzy cropped version?

Totally feeling classic ivy league with a twist today. Imagining these great horn rimmed glasses with pink lips, paired with a great navy blazer. Throw in this stunning watch and crazy boots and your set.
Perfect for a day of sipping french press coffee with a stack of books beside you, or online shopping! I just bought this pretty little Bodum Coffee Press from CSN store all modern.
CSN stores have over 200 online stores where you can find everything from contemporary coffee tables, to fabulous shoes, to vases (this one im particularity drooling over). Im dreaming up a hefty wish list!

B.Jones Style, Zana
First i saw B.Jones wearing this perfect black number, now Zana is wearing it her way, i need to try this out! Love the 90s feel of the cut, mixed with modern accessories and styling. This seems like the perfect wear-everywhere dress.
Perfect for going out mixed with platforms and bling, for work mixed with mary-janes and a belt, and for weekends with flats and piled on jewels. Now wear can i get one of these?

Nars, Deborah Lippmann, Nars.
Loving these fall colored nails, the orange is just divine, especially with the bit of shimmer. Also loving the return of glittery nails, who knew these would come back so soon. Maybe i'll ask for a top glitter coat when getting my nails done this weekend!

I mean the girl can wear a pair a trousers, eh? Don't you wish you thought of those rolled up casual trousers before summer was over? I'm taking the gray look and turning it into my work look for sometime this week. The look is just too genius to pass up, or maybe she just wears them brilliantly. Either way im in!

Her Version:

My Version:

BF Jeans: Gap, Clogs: Bamboo, Jewelry: Vintage.
Picked up this cow hide leather clutch while thrifting a bit ago. The many zips and pockets combined with the rich cognac color made me think Alexander Wang. I picked it up for a quick 49 cents, no harm done. When i saw the new Millie Bag on Sincerely, Jules it was confirmed- my bag could be its (cheaper), younger, sister. Total score!
