F R E S H & S I M P L E.

I love plants around the house, actually i love them everywhere! I'm a huge fan of making my own plant groupings and terrariums, and have actually been told not to get anymore. (You've heard this all before.) But when i saw these plant ideas on Family Chic i just knew i must try them! The vintage rhinestone 'plant jewelry' might be a bit blingy in my house but the idea is just magnificent. I'm thinking of doing it with vintage amber pins for a subtler spin. The colander idea is just so sweet and country kitchen feeling.
I'm moving all my interior ideas over to a new blog, so i can focus on fashion stuff here. Stay tuned.

O U T B U R S T.

Im obsessed with this blog! Its a great mix of projects and art work, interior design, and cute kids. The fresh colors, bright whites, and neat projects keep me fully inspired every time.
Abbey, aka Aesthic Outburst, makes these seemingly simple looking projects. Although she can't fool me, i know they are not simple to make- she just makes them look so great! It's really a lifestyle blog, party, decorating, and crafting ideas just jump into your head when reading through. But don't just take my word for it, check it out yourself!

Gardening in Heels, At Home at Home.
I looove having plants in the house. You may or may not remember that i am currently banned from bringing any more in the house. You may have seen my numerous other posts featuring house plants. They just lend a certain air to the room, something you can't quite put your finger on. Oh yeah it's an alive feeling! That pop of green is so unmistakable and unable to be replicated in any other way.
So even though i'm banned from more plants at our house, my boyfriend has told me he would like a plant for his desk at work, something to liven up the place (ha.) For valentines i'm making him a very small, but very special planter. I've already found a small textured and patterned clay pot, and i'm filling it with a baby cactus and either some aloe or jade. (Hope you're not reading this babes!) What are you doing for v-day?

CRusse, Apartment Therapy, Martha Stewart.
I'm in a super DIY mood, ready to make just about anything i can get my hands on. Here's some of the things grazing the top of my 'to-make' list.
-Super Statement Necklaces: babbles of beads in colors that can transition into spring.
-Knotty Rope Necklaces: statement making with a unique texture-the thicker the better.
-Dip Dyed Baskets: a Martha Stewart idea, that you can do so many different things with using different colors and materials, all resulting in a great outcome.
Whats on your list?

My office/DIY.
Although maybe not the most interesting of pictures, this is my daily reality. Messy desk complete with millions of post its, clutter galore, and one lone aloe plant.
Since i work at a crafty place i can use my lunch time to make cards and such. Today i whipped up a little card with matching tags for a friend who just found out hes sick. The matching tags are going to be going on blueberry muffins, chocolate covered pretzels, and maybe a bottle of wine, which will make up a little get-well-soon basket. Since hes a movie buff i included 3-D stickers with a movie reel, directors microphone, and scene slate. What are you DIYing?

Lena Corwin's blog called Wee Textiles makes me drool. I would just die to live in that amazingly colorful, texture filled, world! Right now she is especially into knits for her new baby, giving me more than an eyeful of inspiration while reading her blog.
I've been doing a lot of knitting myself lately and am working on a striped knitted throw (which i mentioned here) after seeing these mixed color knits, on Wee, i've decided to change up my plans. Im going to be doing all heather grey and mixing in bit of sky blue-hopefully coming out the a bit of a Navajo print. Always fun to try something new!

C A M E L C O W L.

Finally finished the cowl that i've been knitting for a while, so glad to cross it off the list. Went with a camel color so it matches my many coats, and its super warm which is nice. To bad i don't have time to make these as Christmas gifts for my girlfriends! Whoops.

K N I T T I N G A R O U N D T H E W O R L D.

Everyone is making gift guides, im making a project guide, filled with things i have on my, very full, 'To-Make' list. First are these amazing terrarium kits, i regretfully can't remember where the picture is from. I do know the kit was a gift, filled with everything you need to make a complete terrarium-moss, plants, rocks, mini figurines-and labeled oh so cute.
Second are these blanket kits found on PurlSoho, at $120 the kits are a bit expensive for me, so im going to be making my own version. Im thinking more uniform colors, like maybe a gray and blue striped version.
Third is this image filled with inspiration (i like everything in it). I was going to make my own hallway runner rug because my hallway is so skinny, but i lost the link to the extra marked down, (it was $15 on sale from $75), lap loom i was planning on buying. So that's on the back burner for now.
Whats on your to-make list?

D I Y C I T Y.

Lots of DIYs this Saturday. Trying to finish up lots of loose ends on non completed projects, and finish up all those christmas gift diys. Necklace inspired by the simplicity that seems center stage right now, fat wooden beads mixed with silk string, easy-peasy. Martha Stewart Ikea rug turned Americana pillow, idea here. And knitting with a loom, super easy and fast, one of the many knits im whipping up as quick gifts.

Sweater: Thrifted, Tee: Gap Body, Leggings: F21, Boots: Thrifted.
Saturday kind of outfit, we had some company over for chili and cornbread, afterwords we went out to a local bar for live music and drinks with friends. Wore my new fuzzy sweater out, it got lots of compliments, and i pretended it wasn't itchy, ha.
These pom pom garlands keep popping up all over my house, this one is stung on the kitchen wall.

The Brick House, FFFFound.
Plants around the house just lend to a more 'alive' feeling- literally. They make it feel like my house is fresh and classy, and they still look cool when they dry out. Cactus are especially easy to take care of, and if my boyfriend hadn't put the kibosh on bringing any more plants into the house, i'd be making the simple terrariums from Brick House. Maybe i can talk him into it, ha!

O M N S.

Since i haven't had any time to decorate lately, i've been obsessed with interior design. Lately im loving anything that that feels a bit cluttered and homespun. Knick knacks, pottery, throw blankets, oriental rugs, i want it all.
I am self diagnosing myself with OMNS, Obsessed Manhattan Nest Syndrome. I have been browsing the blog for two days straight- this isn't normal, and am becoming more and more sure that i could and should do every DIY on the site.

P O M C R A Z Y.

Since the holidays are coming up i am thinking about gifts for everyone. I really like to make the most of my gifts, having them show cased in beautiful wrapping. This year i am thinking of adorning each of my gifts with a giant pom pom on the top, a kind of chic granny wrapping.
I just love what Honestly...WTF did with their poms, its got my mind reeling with all sorts of pom creations. Necklaces, place card holders, headbands, purse decorations, and how cute would this strand look hanging on a wall indoors?
