Photos: by my bf.
Every weekend my boyfriend makes us pancakes. Sometimes they have blueberries, chocolate chips, or cinnamon, but they are always delicious. Sometimes they come with bacon, sausage or eggs, and other times they come alone. He just got a new recipe that makes some of the fluffiest, yummy-est, from scratch flap jacks. Get it here. Highly recommended!

Is it weird to be totally obsessed with dishware? I'm constantly imagining dinner parties, picnics, and brunches with fabulous dinner wear. Beautiful cotton napkins, table runners with tassels, water decantors, i want all of it. Right now we have so many dishes i've had to banish some to the basement for safe keeping. I'm even so crazy that i bought the most perfect intricately painted blue plates and saucers-for a cabin that we're wishing to get in the future (not the near future). I just can't stop the madness!

With my new job i haven't really had the time to dedicate in the kitchen. Browsing the blogosphere i keep running into great recipes, homemade hummus anyone? With the upcoming holidays i am making mini pumpkin pies and am planning on dedicating some extra time to cooking. Beyond mixing up some white russians, im thinking panninis and chili- some good warm up kind of food. Anyone have any recipes to share?

Pumpkin Carving, Cactus growing, A nice warm drink.
I love fall and all the cozy fun it brings. So far this fall we have carved pumpkins (of course), hiked, and curled up on the couch with my boyfriends favorite fall drink. Every fall he makes his famous Nice Warm Drink, its an apple cider and rum sort of drink. Its highly requested by all!

Im so excited for the holidays and everything it includes; baking, eating, and spending time together! While reading Design Sponge today i ran across this little store called Herriott Grace. Although they specialize in wooden kitchen bits and bobs i love their 'cake flags'. Im thinking of making some with little patterned ribbon, perfect for the mini pumpkin pies im making for Thanksgiving.
Like the 'cake flag' idea for more casual setting in cheese as well.

Date night the other night. We went out for Thai food, and both vowed to try something new (although only i did!). I got the lava noodles, they were only kinda good.
I wore my new favorite earrings, i feel like they are a little Tory Burch in design. They are actually Jill MacKay, your so posted to add beads and your own flair but i like them plain silver. Really good quality for the $3.00 price tag!
Oh and our cat didn't join us for dinner!

This weekend i went back home to visit my bf and friends. It was great fun but it went to fast. It consisted of scouring the flea market, we got 70s headphones with awesome sound and tons of jewelry for 5 dollars. Going to a new spot downtown for a friends birthday, attending a local festival, and creating the best breakfast sandwich ever. (Pepper jack cheese, egg, and sausage!)
Can't wait to be back next weekend!

Homemade Summer Pizza.
The other night i just wanted something fresh and light for dinner, seeing as its so hot out. So i made this summer pizza. Its super easy, all you do is get pizza dough from the grocery store, then mix up a little olive oil, minced garlic, parsley, and oregano and spread it on top. Top with some summer veggies, i used heirloom tomatoes, regular tomatoes, onions, and basil. Lightly top with cheese and your in for a light summer dinner, perfect with a cold beer.

Brook&Lyn.
We have been going over to one of our friends houses for cocktails and good company a lot lately. So i was thinking i am going to return to favor and invite everyone over my house next weekend. Now i want to make it special and i saw these cocktails on Brook&Lyn, how beautiful right? I think im going to stick to a cucumber theme, do these drinks and some appetizers with cucumbers as well. Just keep it light and fresh for this newly hot summer weather!

Stir fry has got to be one of my favorite things to eat and make. Just throw whatever veggies you have in with some chicken and your good to go. A little fresh ginger is my secret to making it taste so good!
Say hello to my new shoes. My version of this summer's clogs, with the grommets and stacked wood heel. And talk about a deal i got these for $12.99, and they are super comfortable! Perfect summer shoe with any outfit, definitely bringing these on my upcoming vacation!

Nana in Wonderland, KATmosphere,
Im particularly loving these easy, all weather outfits. Add a layer, take away a layer, when the weather calls for it during the day. Exactly the kind of dressing i need lately with the crazy changing temps and bouts of rain. Especially loving the print mixing in the second picture, makes for a totally different outfit when you de-layer.
Anyways i think i am going to make these cute jam filled cookies tonight as a little special treat!

Dores.
The last two days i have been discovering new blogs. Blogs filled with vintage love, handmade jewelry, handmade clothing, and such. I have been so inspired i am determined to make some beautiful jewelry myself this afternoon. I have been super slacking in the diy field lately but i have more than enough supplies and inspiration to give me the push i need.
I was also inspired from Dores' blog (which i just discovered) to make banana oatmeal pancakes this morning. Well let me rephrase that, i hinted to my bf that banana oatmeal pancakes sounded good, because he is the pancake guy around here.
I'm off to get my creative juices flowing then make something delicious for dinner!

C A L L O F D U T Y.

Blazer: Retro, Tee: Hanes, Leggings: H&M.
Outfit from a couple of days ago, i have been a horrid blogger. Between class, group meetings, interviews, and exams i have been super busy. Besides that i am broke, poor, skint, however you break it down i am brokeee. Although my mom did call me yesterday and say she got me that digital camera that i wanted for christmas. I am not sure when i will get it because she is scarred to ship it in the mail but soon i will have super fabulous pictures for the blog.
Oh and this is my delicious dinner of steak tacos with sauteed peppers and onions. We have taco night once a week but these looked so good i wanted to share them.
Ps. i named the post call of duty because i felt a duty as a blogger to come back and post and also because my bf is obsessed with the game.

Sweater: Thrifted, Scarf: DIY, Rings: Spiral Light, Lipstick: NYC's Sheer Red.
I have been looking for a chunky cream or white cardigan with a large collar for a while now. Its hard to find something when your so specific, ha. But i found this brilliantly warm and chunky number yesterday on 50 cent day. I am wondering about the possibility of taking it off anytime soon and its looking dim. When i put it on today after tossing it in the wash i stuck my hand in the pocket and felt something. Ew, was all i was thinking, but then i looked in and some old sweet woman safety pined extra buttons in the pocket! Its meant to be!
On another note, i made this wonderful stir fry for dinner last night and wanted to show off my handiwork. I tweaked the recipe a bit, but i highly recommend this as an easy dinner. Now im off to work on tonight's dinner!
